Offices in Koreatown, Los Angeles | Possible allocation of work hours between on-site and remote.

The Accounting and Finance Associate serves as a critical point person for a nonprofit membership organization focused on the documentary film community in the Accounting and Finance department. They will provide key support in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and provide overall support documenting and managing donations in the Fiscal Sponsorship Program. They are customer-service oriented; a helpful, accessible resource and proactive problem solver, keeping our systems running smoothly.

This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment are subject to collective bargaining with the union.

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Accounting and Finance: 

  • Management of Fiscal Sponsorship donations 
  • Assist with monthly credit card reconciliation and employee expense reports
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable including new vendor setup, entering bills and invoices
  • Generating financial reports in Quickbooks and Excel 
  • Assist with month-end closing tasks
  • Assist with completing annual audit workpapers

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Quickbooks
  • Proficiency in collaborative data management; experience with Airtable preferred 
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google G Suite applications 
  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP or US GAAP) is required
  • Experience working with Nonprofits and a Fiscal Sponsorship program preferred
  • Organizational budgeting experience preferred
  • BA in business, accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in an office environment 
  • Strong ethics with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information
  • Must be able to provide proof of current vaccination from COVID-19

Spouses, Domestic Partners and Dependents are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and voluntary life insurance coverage on our plan, with the full premium paid by the employee. 

Enrollment must take place at the time of hire, or during our open enrollment period which traditionally takes place during the month of November. Employee enrollment and plan changes may also be made due to a “qualifying life event” such as adding a child to your family or your spouse, domestic partner or you or your dependents losing other coverage.
