Premiering September 6 on Topic.com is Tali Shemesh and Asaf Sudry's Death In The Terminal, which presents a real-time account of a 2015 terrorist attack that took place in a bus terminal in Beersheba, Israel. The documentary won top prizes at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and Israel’s Academy Awards.
Coming to Netflix September 1 is Errol Morris' The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman's Portrait Photography, which probes the life, work, and studio of the title figure, a Polaroid photographer who's shot luminaries and regular folk alike. The New York Times calls it "an enjoyable and also profound movie."
Showing this week on MUBI is Sergei Loznitsa's The Event, made up of restored footage of the dramatic cavalcade of events during the collapse of the Soviet Union 26 years ago this month. Variety says the film "movingly taps into our collective historical memory."
