About the Project
Tempelhof removes the mass mask of the Migrants by showing them as individual persons through their stories about their lives, their journey, and integrating into Germany.
The story structure of Tempelhof is first based on a chronological and geographical basis as described through individual Migrant interviews. Their stories tell of the physical journey and the reasons why they took this extraordinary action. The narrative trajectory moves from the decisions to flee their home countries and transitions to their current situations in Germany. The character arcs span a gamut from fear, to determined physical effort, to exhaustion, then relief. Yet, the mental challenges of absorbing and becoming part of a new culture are equally daunting.
