About the Project

Mabon “Teenie” Hodges- A Portrait of a Memphis Soul Original, is my way of painting a portrait through film of my close friend Mabon “Teenie” Hodges.  Teenie made a major contribution to Memphis soul music both through his songwriting and his guitar playing.  He is best known for co-writing the songs “Take Me to the River”, “Love and Happiness”, and “Here I Am (Come and Take Me)” with Al Green.
