About the Project
The Himalayan Story Lab: The Story Lab, located in Tezpur (in Assam), is a space dedicated for first-time feature documentary filmmakers from the North-Eastern states of India. Historically under-resourced, the North-East region, lying in the shadow of the Himalayas, is one of the world's unique biodiversity and cultural hotspots. The Story Lab has been designed to ensure selected Fellows have access to cutting-edge filmmaking pedagogy, masterclasses, producing labs and opportunities for international collaborations. The Lab has been conceived with the aim to strengthen the next generation of indigenous director-producers from the North-East, who are confidently embarking on their ambitious storytelling projects.
