Join Emmy®-winning filmmaker Lindsey Dryden and filmmaker & writer Kyla Harris in a workshop by and for disabled nonfiction media makers. Kyla and Lindsey use their experiences in the field of film, television and activism to facilitate a community-led discussion around self-advocation, boundaries and solidarity. Expanding on the Disability Justice principles of the prior session, the last of two FWD-Doc Teach Outs will center disabled makers and their professional lives. Kyla and Lindsey will reflect on how their disabled identity has shaped their work and share how they navigate environments where education around Disability Justice is thin. This session is open to media-makers with disabilities only. Diagnosis is not needed to identify as disabled. If you feel as if the identity applies to some part of your experience, please join! ASL and CART Captioning will be provided.
