About the Project

Thunder, Wind, and War is a show-stopping documentary musical that interweaves the history of HBCU marching bands and their military roots, gripping performances, and the life and times of members of one of the most elite marching band programs in the country: Jackson State University’s “Sonic Boom of the South.”
