Two older men stand in a lush, moss-covered forest, each holding a wooden walking stick. One man wears a gray jacket and looks to the side, while the other, wearing a dark jacket and tan cap, gestures toward something in the distance.

About the Project

At seven years old, Emmanuel Harerimana's life was saved by the mountain gorillas during the Rwandan genocide. He sets out to find the last surviving Rwandan men who worked alongside Dian Fossey in the 1970s to protect the gorillas, restoring their rightful place as heroes within one of the world’s greatest conservation success stories.
