All That Glitters: Anatomy of Oscar®-Winning Docs with Freida Mock and James Moll

Join us for an intensive workshop presented by Oscar®-winning filmmakers Freida Mock (Anita) and James Moll (Foo Fighters: Back and Forth). Participants will discover and analyze the qualities that make some documentaries stand above the rest. Screening clips from Oscar®-winning documentaries from the last few decades, such as Man on Wire, March of the Penguins, and Searching for Sugar Man, Freida and James will examine key components of the production process and will answer the question: What are the common ingredients in documentaries that win Academy Awards®?

This three-hour interactive workshop offers an in-depth analysis of recent Academy Award-winning documentaries to reveal what makes them great. Intended for aspiring and experienced filmmakers, as well as documentary enthusiasts, this workshop will help participants gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the art of documentary.
