About the Project

The Envisionaries is a documentary film series about blind soccer players and the people who believe in them. More at EnvisionariesTheMovie.com.

Initially conceived as a feature documentary about the sport of Blind Football, the project evolved into a multi-part documentary series.

Pre-production on the film began in 2019 at the Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru. After Covid, we got back in action!

We traveled to the IBSA World Games in Birmingham, England (2023), filming the women’s and men’s tournaments. Subsequent filming trips include to players’ hometowns in Colombia and Argentina, as well as the Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile (2023), the Paralympic Games in Paris, France (2024), the IBSA Women’s Blind Football World Championship in Kerala, India (2025).

Working closely with the Colombia men’s team and the Argentina women’s and men’s teams, the series focuses on the players – their families, friends, hobbies, jobs, and daily lives. More than a film about adaptive sports, The Envisionaries offers a vision of triumphs and setbacks, competition and cooperation, adversity and resilience.
