About the Project

In Umbria, Italy, agronomist Isabella Dalla Ragione sets out to recover her country’s lost heirloom fruits after discovering clues in Renaissance paintings that point to the few surviving trees. Guided by her father’s legacy and racing a rapidly changing climate, she must find and save these trees before they disappear, or risk losing a vital piece of Italy’s biodiversity and its food future.
