About the Project

Synopsis: Dr. Shadia Habbal leads an international team of cloud-fearing astronomers as they prepare for the 2024 eclipse.

Biography: Dr. Shadia Habbal is a Syrian-American astronomer and physicist specializing in Space physics. She has led research groups at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and has served on a number of advisory panels for NASA. She is currently serving as Faculty Chair at the Institute for Astronomy of the University of Hawaii. Her eclipse research is supported by the National Science Foundation and NASA.
