Janay is a Lebanese journalist and filmmaker. She graduated with a Master's degree in International Journalism from Brunel University. From 2012, she worked for BBC News in various roles, displaying versatility across TV, radio, and digital production. Her skills include shooting, editing, and field production in hostile environments. In 2021, she started a production company, Habak Films, with her partner, Syrian filmmaker and activist Abd Al-Kader Habak. She has worked on several documentaries for BBC News and Al Jazeera Arabic and her focus centers around sharing stories of lived experiences within the Middle East, particularly from Lebanon and Syria. Currently, she is immersing herself in the world of feature documentary production and has participated in several programs such as IDFA Project Space, Documentary Campus Masterschool, Sheffield DocFest's Future Producer School and Aflamuna Impact Lab.

Abd al-Kader Habak
Abd Al-Kader Habak is a Syrian cinematographer who worked in Syria during the most difficult times and filmed six years of the war. He has worked with several international channels (BBC, CNN) as a cameraman/field producer. After living and documenting the siege of Aleppo, he fled to the UK in 2017. Habak lives in London and works as a documentary filmmaker and producer.

Sonja Henrici
Sonja is an award-winning German-British producer of many acclaimed feature documentaries and campaigns, including The Oil Machine (Sheffield/ IDFA/ BBC), Merkel (Telluride/ IDFA/Netflix), Time Trial (SXSW), Donkeyote (IFFR), I Am Breathing and more. She was Co-Director/Exec Producer of Scottish Documentary Institute from 2013 - 2020 and founder of its production arm (2007). In 2021 she set up Sonja Henrici Creates to develop fiction and docs. She loves to collaborate internationally from her base in Edinburgh. She’s an AMPAS & BAFTA Member.
