About the Project
WAGAH centers on the Beating Retreat ceremony at the Wagah/Attari border between India and Pakistan: a daily spectacle of militarized performance, patriotic fervor, and fleeting unity. The film will blend visual essay, intimate discussion, and historical context; constructed from observational footage of the ceremony, archival material, interviews, and my own narration and reflections. A meditation on memory, belonging, and my upbringing across the globe as the 80th anniversary approaches in 2027.
