Blue Note Records: Beyond the Notes
About the Screening
Blue Note Records: Beyond the Notes explores the unique and ground-breaking vision behind the iconic jazz label. Through rare archival material, current recording sessions and intimate conversations with Blue Note artists, such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Robert Glasper, the film uncovers a history of jazz that is not static, but an art form suffused with deep humanity that remains fiercely political and relevant today.
Screening of film is followed by a moderated post-film conversation with Director Sophie Huber and Producer Susanne Guggenberger.
