About the Project

In an era where global conflict is increasingly mediated through screens, young people are routinely exposed to distressing content - from graphic images of violence to the normalization of conflict across online platforms. This constant exposure does more than shape what they see; it affects their emotional well-being, their sense of safety, and how they engage with the world around them.

The team behind the award-winning documentary The Longer You Bleed (2025) seeks to use film and community engagement to create space for young people to better understand digital trauma and to explore pathways toward an internet that prioritizes digital rights and mental well-being. The film examines how algorithms expose us to trauma through the lens of young Ukrainian refugees living in Berlin.

The impact team will bring together experts in digital rights advocacy and mental health to advance these conversations through a series of virtual and in-person screenings in targeted US and European cities, using The Longer You Bleed as a catalyst for dialogue.
