Dark blue flyer for Between Takes: Guided Reflection to Rejuvenate Your Film. Wednseday, March 11, 2026

Join Film In Mind for a reflective hour, an opportunity to reconnect with your project and set intentions to sustain you throughout the next stages of production. This facilitated workshop will invite you to pause, step outside of the demands of production for a moment, and reset. There will be 30 minutes of additional time afterwards to remain in community with the facilitators and fellow participants to reflect on what this experience evoked for you.

Even if they seem avoidable, there will always be natural breaks and roadblocks in any given production timeline. Production and/or fundraising pauses don’t have to signal stagnation or failure. In fact, a hiatus can be really generative, allowing the filmmaker and film team space to reframe an issue or gather resources to proceed in a more purposeful and creative way. At times, the grueling pace of production and the pedantic but necessary details of shoots obscure the foundational reason you began making your film in the first place. There are ways to use these breaks to sustain the film and its team throughout a long production schedule.

For the first hour of this program, practitioners from Film in Mind will use guided prompts to help you return to your film’s purpose. Together, you will explore ways to reconnect and spark movement through projects. Even if you’re not currently in a production pause, it’s good to prepare for a future break when you may need these resources, ensuring you have the strategies for longevity for your film and in this career path.
