Liz Garbus, Director/Producer
Two-time Academy Award® nominee (The Farm: Angola, USA, What Happened, Miss Simone?), two-time Emmy® winner (Directing, Drama Series, and Directing, Nonfiction Programming), Peabody winner (A Dangerous Son), GRAMMY® and DGA nominee (What Happened, Miss Simone?), and BAFTA-nominated (Reporting Trump’s First Year: The Fourth Estate), director Liz Garbus is renowned for her documentary work and breakthrough scripted debut. Her work has been featured in festivals from Sundance and Telluride to Toronto and the New York Film festival. Garbus is known for her propulsive, socially incisive storytelling across genres.
Some recent projects she directed include I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, All In: The Fight for Democracy, her narrative feature debut Lost Girls, and Emmy® winning and Oscar® nominated documentary What Happened, Miss Simone. Upcoming projects include Becoming Cousteau, which Garbus directed, as well as Fauci, Gamestop, Mayor Pete, and Nuclear Family.
