The Fourth Kingdom is the kingdom of plastics, a redemption center in New York for immigrants and underdogs where the American Dream becomes possible indeed.
Following the screening, we will be joined by Directors Adán Aliaga and Àlex Lora, and Producer Isa Feliu for a feedback discussion.
Adán Aliaga (Director): His first documentary film, My Grandmother’s House (2005) won several international awards, including the Joris Ivens Award at the IDFA DocumentaryFestival. Since then, he has filmed seven feature films, obtaining different national and international awards and mentions, including Pilar Miró Award for Best Debut Film at the Valladolid International Film Festival, Best Documentary at Alcances Film Festival, Best Film in the Madrid PNR Film Festival, Special Jury Mention at Málaga Film Festival, and Goya Spanish Academy Award Nominee.
Àlex Lora (Director): His first feature documentary Thy Father's Chair premiered at IDFA in Amsterdam in 2015. He has screened twice at Sundance Film Festival as Official Selection and his work has received over 100 awards and mentions, among them, two NY-Emmy and four other times nominee, finalist for the Oscars-Student Academy Awards, Goya Spanish Academy Award Nominee and winner Gaudi Award from the Catalan Academy, after being nominated in three occasions.
Isa Feliu (Producer) is a Spanish producer and actor based between Spain and NY. She is also an Engineer and Master in Marketing Management. She has worked for Spanish National Television (TVE), producing and hosting a TV show about Research & Development. In fiction, she worked on the production of The Walker, directed by Adán Aliaga, premiered at Gijón International Film Festival 2015, which won the Best Director Award in Alicante Film Festival. She has produced The Fourth Kingdom (2017) short documentary directed by Aliaga & Lora, which has received more than 20 awards in international film festivals, including Best Mini-Doc at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and Goya Spanish Academy Award Nominee.
DocuClub NY is a regular collaboration between IDA and DCTV. This work-in-progress screening series offers the public and members of the film community advance access to new documentaries in progress, and the opportunity to participate in behind-the-scenes conversations with filmmakers and creators.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Screening followed by a moderated feedback discussion with the filmmakers - 7:00pm - 9:30pm. Admission not guaranteed, all RSVP's are first-come, first-served.
