Last night, the Los Angeles Unified School District and the International Documentary Association presented Docs Rock Film Festival, A Celebration of Student Films by San Pedro High School students.
Docs Rock was a joint effort combining the LAUSD, the IDA and the Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Los Angeles. The object of this unique curriculum is to provide students with an opportunity to study and create documentary films. The curriculum has been granted admission status for the University of California Admission Standards.
Docs Rock features a component with visiting filmmakers and a speakers' bureau where professionals share their experience and expertise with secondary students. This year's program is dedicated to the North West Neighborhood Council and its members. Look below at some pictures from the night.
