American Love Story: A Community in Search of Freedom is a hybrid documentary-narrative that has been shot over the course of six years. By following Jessica, a survivor of domestic sex trafficking, American Love Story explores how modern slavery is perpetuated in the United States within our cultural systems and attitudes. As Jessica journeys across the US, advocating for survivors, she joins a small group of Austinites determined to end human trafficking in their city. They form an ambitious plan to engage every city sector and in doing so, discover the power love has to create lasting solutions and reclaim human dignity.
