About the Project

It is a question that sparks protests and violence, results in crimes and deaths, divides even the most rational thinkers and forces us all to explore our connection to the past and our hopes for the future. It is a question at the heart of our democracy. What do we do with the symbols of the Confederacy? How do we want the past to look in the future?
