About the Project
When Mark Lane, a middle aged White American living near the Mexican border confronts white supremacists targeting immigrants in a small California border town, he, his wife and three children become targets themselves. Mark loses his home and restaurant but never his passion for helping immigrants.
While still very active in helping immigrants, dealing daily with the extreme trauma of people in crisis puts a toll on Mark’s emotional and psychological health. When his therapist advises him to take at least 15 minutes a day to himself, it sounds difficult for him, due to the guilt he feels when not spending every moment helping the thousands in need.
