About the Project

A visceral, bold documentary about a family’s resilience in the face of addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and foster care.

After ten years, Thanh Tran is released from prison with a drive to reunite with his family.

First, he must formally apologize to his foster moms, the two elderly Vietnamese Buddhist nuns who adopted him and his siblings when he was 18 months old. Then he can focus on reuniting with his siblings, so they can search the streets for their biological mom who lives houseless on the streets of Sacramento.

Join Thanh and his family as they embark on a journey of strength, joy, and pain in Finding Má.
