About the Project

Trading Gifts is about the impact, history and future of trade between two partners - African nations and the United States of America, in a world where more than 60% of Africa’s population is under 25 years and 42% of global youth will be made up young Africans by 2030. This documentary unfolds through the travel experiences of 24-year-old Karo Otega, third generation son of Nigerian immigrants who resides in Atlanta, GA and his 24-year-old girlfriend Leah Pierson, Atlanta native who is on a peace corps assignment in Accra, Ghana, who set out with camera, social media platforms, telecommunication gear to explore, educate, and discuss how trading with Africa is the next frontier.
