The Women of Ukraine

About the Project

The Women of Ukraine is a 90-minute documentary project that explores and celebrates the efforts and achievements of Ukrainian women who have dedicated their lives, often at great risk, to answering the consequences of the war Russia has brought upon their country. Not for the first time, Russia is trying to destroy Ukraine’s humanism and humanities.

Since the beginning of hostilities, attempts to erase Ukrainian identity and culture and denigrate the Ukrainian people through the destruction of places of cultural, historical and religious significance, including libraries, schools, universities and hospitals are commonplace. Add to that, the war crimes of abducting Children into Russian homes and forbidding them to speak their own language, and then, the impact of war on the lives of children. And, without an end, the use of sexual abuse as a weapon of war.
